Managing multimedia and DVR Tools for visualization of engineering concepts

Abstract

This paper discussed the influence of multimedia and desktop virtual reality (DVR) tools in enhancing learning and understanding of theoretical concepts in mechanical engineering. The benefits of multimedia and DVR as well as the important issues that need to be taken into account during the design and implementation stages of development are discussed. Finally, a framework that could assist multimedia tools developers in designing their application to suit users requirements is proposed.
